At the time of the Civil War between the North and the Southerners in America, five men, trying to escape with a hot air balloon from the besieged Richmond, are sinking on a desert island of the Pacific Ocean. There they take advantage of what nature offers them and survive thanks to their hard work, knowledge and ingenuity. Even when they meet obstacles, they always do it. As if they have a mysterious patron on the island, which always helps them but remains invisible. Will the French novelist Julius Verne be discovered, at some point? The mysterious island was published in 1874-1875 and is one of his most famous works.
