Young hero Jim Hawkins discovers an old treasure map in a dead sailor's chest. Along with Dr. Livesey and the nobleman Trelawny, they travel on their ship, the Hispaniola, to find him. Arriving on the island, however, they are met with a mutiny from the crew. The pirates, led by John Silver, want the treasure for themselves. They have no idea, however, about the sailor who had been abandoned there by his companions many years before and who will play an important role in the hunt for the treasure, the treasure that the pirates would have found if Long John had not... The Island of Treasures was written by Robert Louis Stevenson and first published in 1883. It is a fascinating and timeless novel that will enchant children of all ages.
